This week’s edition of The Travel Guys features two fun and close to home destinations. Each summer, there is a Shakespeare Theater Festival on the shores of Lake Tahoe. Two shows are offered this year, beginning in July. Romeo and Juliet is the Shakespeare half, while The Fantasticks fills the contemporary theater part of the season. Meanwhile, at Jack London State Park, just outside the Napa Valley, another outdoor summer entertainment opportunity presents itself. Catch a concert in the park! We’ll update you on both with special guests in the back half of the show.
Ramona Goodge, one of our road reporters, joins live from Alaska, where she is on a Holland America cruise. However, she’s not on the show to talk about Alaska but rather to tell us about Vancouver Island. That’s the huge body of land just off the coast of British Columbia. It’s home to Victoria, but Ramona’s tour of the island in August isn’t about the island’s largest city, it’s about Nanaimo, Duncan and Tofino, the last of which is on the Pacific Coast. Listen as Ramona tells you about a place we’ll bet most of you have never visited, or even thought about visiting even though the west coast of Vancouver Island is truly one of the world’s most beautiful places.
Mark has the travel news, with a note about sharing rides in an Uber car. Did you know such a thing was possible?
