How the Government Shutdown is Impacting Travel

*    In the Travel News, bed bugs continue to plague popular destinations.  We tell you where they are, and how to keep the little hitchhikers off your stuff.  Mohammed Ali’s hometown names it’s airport after him (Louisville).  Interesting twist: Ali was terrified of flying.  And we take a look at the number one current compliant from vacation share/Airbnb fans…..the rising cost of cleaning deposits.

 

*    As the partial government shutdown continues, it is having more and more impact on travel.  Dale Keller and Sid Hanna, our local TSA leaders, are in studio to talk about how the shutdown is impacting Sacramento, what tips they have for travelers and where we might be headed.  Also, we will tell you how you can help those in need if you wish.

 

*    Clayton Whitehead, one of our road reporters, is about to embark on a flight to and cruise around Australia (and New Zealand).  It’s a long flight and a long cruise, and we want to know from Clayton, what are you taking with you.  After he returns next month, we will double back and find out what he wished he had taken and what he could have left at home.  What are the secrets to surviving a 13 hour flight and a 20 hour trip?  Clayton brings 40 years of experience to the studio.
