On the Sunday, September 15th edition of The Travel Guys:
* In the Travel News, clubs on the Strip in Las Vegas have started charging a creative new fee to those who like to enjoy a cocktail. It’s called a “venue fee” and it’s creating a firestorm among visitors. Paying an additional fee to consume overpriced alcohol. You MUST be kidding? A historic military convoy traveled across the country on the Historic Lincoln Highway and it passed through Placerville and south Sacramento on its way to the highway terminus in San Francisco. We talk to the president of the California Chapter of the Lincoln Highway Association and learn a little more about this most unusual road trip.
* We feature two entertainers on the program this week. Coincidentally, both are appearing at the Sofia (B St.) Theatre. Herb Albert and Lani Hall are in town Sept. 19-20. Jack Gallagher, the popular local comedian, is starring in a one-man show, A Stand Up Guy, running through October 20. The first is a concert, the second an introspective look at Jack’s comedy career, spanning 4 decades.
