In Portland every June, they hold the Rose Festival. It's the biggest floral celebration this side of the Tournament of Roses in Pasadena. This Sunday, April 2nd, on The Travel Guys... Our focus is Destination Weddings. Sometimes expensive, requiring lots of logistics, are they really worth the effort? We have two experts on hand to give you tips and share their wisdom. Jessica Monsell, one of our Travel Guys contributors, tells us how to pick the right spot, figure out how much it will REALLY cost and plan for the big day. Then we are joined by Sports Leisure Vacations videographer Matt Dockery, who will give you even more tips, based on his first person experience in Key West, a great destination for weddings. The Rutabaga Boogie Band, a longtime Sacramento favorite on the music scene, will join us live in studio and perhaps even give us a little music to travel by. The Travel and Entertainment Guys!
This Sunday, March 26th, on The Travel Guys... In the Travel News, another consumer friendly rule has been put on hold, and travelers coming from certain countries cannot watch movies on big screens in the sky. Chris Elliott, noted Consumer Advocate and Reporter joins us to discuss the landscape for travelers. Is our new business-minded president going to back consumer protections or lean towards the travel providers (remember the president owns hotels, so he is part of the hospitality industry). Chris has answers for those on both sides of the political spectrum, and tells us how travels will be impacted. With summer coming, families will be traveling, some of them with very small children. Gwen Duncan of Cordially Yours Travel talks about traveling with infants, babies and the like. Let's face it, the more comfortable the baby is on the plane, the more comfortable we all will be. The guys give away their second pair of Hamilton tickets. If you would like to be eligible to win the third pair next week, fill out the entry form on this page and listen for your name to be called next week.
This Sunday (March 19th) on The Travel Guys: Steve LaRosa joins us for one of his popular What's Goin' On? updates. Steve will point out some great opportunities coming up around town to see people and do things, plus take us to
Stockton and Reno in search of fun stuff to do!
Train rides are popular and in northern California we have a variety of sightseeing and dining excursions by rail. Chris Hart of Sierra Railroads joins the guys to talk about train rides in the foothills and in Sacramento, and updates us on the status of the Skunk Train, a longtime landmark attraction.
Finally, if you are an owner of a trailer, RV or other type of fifth-wheel vehicle, you'll want to catch Tom's update with Angel Valenzuela and get all kinds of tips on places to go and how to get there on your own northern California camping trip.
We also give away the first of three sets of tickets to see the show Hamilton in San Francisco. We have two more sets to give away and you can enter by filling out the form on your left.
