Travel Guys Radio Show, Page 126

On the Sunday, January 15th, 2017 edition of The Travel Guys… Tom and Steve LaRosa have a special interview with former Eagles member Timothy B. Schmit, who will be performing at the Crest Theatre Tuesday night the 17th at 7:30pm. Speaking of special, Roger Dow, the President and CEO of U.S. Travel, the Washington, D.C. people who keep travel moving forward, is our guest.  Roger talks about a new blueprint for success that U.S. Travel has presented to the TSA, and gives us some of the details on how this plan might make airport security a little more bearable for everyone. In the Travel News, Mark talks about a big dispute over year-end frequent stay credits for Hyatt Hotel guests, and tells us about a Calavaras Big Trees landmark that is no more.
This Sunday, January 8th, on The Travel Guys... In the Travel News, Mark has details on the casting call for the Laguna Pageant of the Masters...do you want to be a star? Self-Proclaimed Travel Blogger and Snapchat Influencer Drew Binsky makes his Travel Guys debut and tells us how someone in their mid-twenties can become a globe-trotting traveler. Jessica Monsell has a report on how hard it is for people in wheelchairs to fly on planes, and the sometime dehumanizing treatment they receive. Gwen Duncan of Cordially Yours Travel join us to talk about the surge in voluntourism, people giving back while they are on vacation
This Sunday (January 1, 2017) on The Travel Guys... It's a most unique show on a holiday weekend. Mark and Tom are both live in studio, narrating a collection of some of the most interesting stories of 2016. From a Trans Siberian Train ride, to a Westin Hotel in California that adopts dogs; from a travel song sent to us from a friend "down under" to morning Amy Lewis recounting her trip with her husband to Moab. Why would THAT be interesting? Because Amy shared so many great travel tips while talking about her journey. Mark has the Travel News, including a story about how Alaska Airlines is increasing the benefits in its frequent flyer program and not adopting a few formula the other airlines are embracing; plus we have 2017 predictions for the world of travel and tourism.
On the Saturday, December 24th, 2016 edition of The Travel Guys… On the Christmas Day ( Dec.25) edition of The Travel Guys... What would Christmas be without Santa Claus? Mark and Tom have cornered one of Santa's best assistants, National Santa (the annual Hollywood Christmas Parade and Toys R Us Are on his resume), to talk about what it's like to be Santa, and what to say and not to say to the kids. Scott Angeletti stops by to talk about the Sports Leisure Vacations trip to Yellowstone National Park in February. It's a most unique Winter Wonderland sort of journey. Mark has the travel news (Are in-flight meals coming back?) and the guys share some of their own Christmas stories. Merry Christmas from all of us to all of you.
