Travel Guys Radio Show, Page 142

On the Sunday, November 1st, 2015 edition of The Travel Guys… The November 1st edition of The Travel Guys features a Travel Round Table. Clayton Whitehead joins Tom and Mark as they discussed a wide variety of travel subjects, including ride-sharing, house-sharing, those nasty resort fees and tips for surviving an extended airport layover. Listeners will have a chance to win some great prizes by calling in and sharing your "Travel Personality" with us. Listen for the signal to call. At the end of the show, Mark Saves the Best for Last by telling you about a new app that allow people in flight to make "connections." Yes, on a plane. (Don't they call that the "Mile High Club?")
On the Sunday, October 25th, 2015 edition of The Travel Guys… This week's show features two great topics, pilgrimages of the biggest kind and River Cruising in Europe. Clayton Whitehead, one of our road reporters, will be talking about his physical and spiritual journey last month along the Camino de Santiago, a 480-mile pilgrimage walk through northern Spain. Gwen Duncan is back with us after a short absence, and she has some terrific information to share about European River Cruises. The guys will ask her about cancellations and other problems with low water this year, how to deal with or avoid that issue, and get Gwen's expertise on the best and maybe worst lines to cruise on. Mark is back from a trip to Orlando, Key West and Washington, DC, and Tom asks him, What Did You Learn On The Road? It's one of our most popular segments and promises to give you great tips on your own travels to those cities and general hints for road warriors. Mark has the Travel News, including a story on how renowned New York restaurant operator Danny Meyer is eliminating tipping at his dozen of so Big Apple restaurants, and we tell you what you should NEVER do with your boarding pass. It's an information and laugh filled Sunday afternoon with The Travel Guys, designed to make you a smarter traveler.
On the Saturday, October 17th, 2015 edition of The Travel Guys… A busy Sunday afternoon with The Travel Guys includes a visit by Travel Writer (www.smartertravel.com) and Consumer Advocate Ed Perkins. Ed is one of our favorite guests and this week we ask and receive some excellent tips on Visiting New Zealand (Ed just returned from there), along with his thoughts on the new sharing economy and how it impacts travel (think Uber, airbnb, Outdoorsy, etc.). Mark dips into the online mail bag to answer some of your questions, and the guys sit down with Mark Haneke, Air Service Development Director at the airport. Mark is the guy who goes in search of more seats for you to fly in. Bigger planes, new destinations, increased service, that's all his department. So what's on his wish list for SMF travelers? Mark has the Travel News, and by the time the hour is over, you'll be a smarter traveler!
