Posted Thursday, January 20th, 2011 Welcome back to an exciting new year of The Travel Guys! We’re thrilled to be back, and even more excited to introduce you to our first episode of the year. Things are changing a bit around here, so we’re going to be taking the first few minutes of the show to introduce you to our new format. Then, in true Travel Guys fashion, we’ll be jetting off to Key West, Florida, where Mark has been playing host to a group of travelers for the past week. For those of you unfamiliar with Key West, think amazing weather, butterflies and some of the most gorgeous sunsets in the world. There are a few other surprises you should think about as well…but we’ll save those for the show!
Once we’ve had our fill of Florida’s tropical paradise, we’ll hit the road yet again to visit Clayton Whitehead over in Savannah. Clayton is currently enjoying his yearly month long sabbatical, but he’ll be taking a day off to introduce us to one of his favorite places in the world. It’s sure to be a real southern treat!
Whew, that’s a lot of traveling for one day.
We’ll close up the hour by returning to Sacramento to check in with Michelle from the Arts & Business Council to tell us about a few interesting things coming up in Sacramento this week. Also joining us in studio will be Cecil from the Sacramento French Film Festival to talk about a new silent film coming to the area. This is an event like we’ve never seen before, and we’re really excited to have it here in Sacramento!
All this and more on this week’s episode of The Travel Guys!
Posted Tuesday, January 11th, 2011 We may not have been on the air for the past couple weeks, but we certainly weren’t taking a vacation! The Travel Guys are back for 2011 and better than ever! So What’s Changing?
Everything…and nothing. We’ll still be whisking you away to some of our favorite far off destinations with road reporters, exclusive interviews and special reports. We’ll also still be bringing you the relevant and interesting travel news you’ve come to expect. In that regard, we’re still The Travel Guys you’ve come to know.
Instead of changing, we’re adding. Adding more episodes, The Travel Guys are now on EVERY Sunday on KFBK AM 1530 from 2-3pm. Notice the time? That’s another change…we’ll be on the air at a more convenient, later time. So what are we going to do with all that extra airtime? In addition to far off destinations, we’ll also be bringing you a heaping dose of local attractions and entertainment. Sacramento is home to, and surrounded by, a wide variety of excellent destinations that, in our opinion, really don’t get enough attention. We’re looking to change that.
So whether you’re looking to explore exciting new frontiers or just take a peek in your own backyard, we have the show for you! Here’s looking to 2011
2010 was an exciting year for The Travel Guys. We brought you all the way to New York for an interview with Arthur Frommer and over to Mackinac Island for some horse-drawn fun. We traveled across the country on the Lincoln Highway and back along Route 66. We hit a few islands, and even brought one lucky traveler along with us.
Oh yes, 2010 was quite a year.
We’re hoping you’ll join us for 2011, as we strive to become not just your Travel Guys, but hopefully you’re Travel and Entertainment Guys! Our first episode of the year airs Sunday, January 23rd at 2pm on AM 1530 KFBK.
