This Sunday (December 11) on The Travel Guys... In the Travel News, Las Vegas hotels are raising their beloved resort fees for 2017, making an already ridiculous cash grab even larger, Mark has the details; and an iconic building at JFK Airport is being turned into a hotel. You might want to put it on your "to visit" list. As many travelers head out for the holidays, many of them with hotel reservations, we have some tips for you on what to do if you arrive at your hotel and your reservation is, well, screwed up. Our favorite consumer advocate Chris Elliott joins us for a year end look at a variety of topics, including animals on planes, the new "bare fares," and how the president elect might impact travel. Speaking of dogs on planes, Adrain Woodfork stops by to offer some tips on traveling with your pets.
This Sunday (December 4) on The Travel Guys... A couple of weeks ago, Tom sat down with noted ukulele player Jake Shimabukuro. We've been promising to share that interview with you ever since, and today, you will hear Tom and Jake. Not only does Jake share some of his story with us (and Hawaiians love to tell story), he also plays. It's one of the Guys' best entertainment interviews ever. Mark digs into the mailbag and answers your questions, including, "Does the maid/housekeeper go through your stuff?" What do YOU think. We have some fun answers and Mark shares an update on the emotional support animal story from last week. Listeners comments and the story about the pet turkey on the plane are all part of this continuing drama. Mark and Tom also talk about some gift ideas for the traveler on your list.
This Sunday (November 27) on The Travel Guys.... A guest who will tell you how you can participate in the world's largest annual global scavenger hunt is on hand. Outdoors expert Bob Simms talks to Tom about tips for those hunters and fisher people in your crowd. Mark has the Travel News along with answering some of your questions from the mailbag.
Posted Sunday, November 20th, 2016 This Sunday (November 20th), the guys welcome Steve LaRosa, with another episode of "What's Goin' On," in and around Sacramento in the coming weeks. In the Travel News, United Airlines is about to introduce a bare-bones fare which doesn't include regular carry-on privileges and a new super strain of bed bugs may be upon us. Jessica Monsell updates us on a story we did a couple months back. You might remember restaurants are putting ordering tablets on the table with access to games. Except the games aren't free, and you don't find that out until the meal check arrives. Now, after some pressure, a few restaurants are rethinking the idea. Jessica also talks to us about Allegiant Airlines and the recent revelation that their planes have many more serious in flight problems than anyone else. Finally, Nico Melendez of TSA talks about the the things infrequent travelers (like many who travel over the holidays) mistakenly try to bring through security. Maybe we can help you get through airport security quicker and be a smarter traveler!
