On the Sunday, August 24th, 2014 edition of The Travel Guys… It's all about hot air! Mark and Tom (experts on the subject) interview Tom Garrity, Communications Director for the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, held the first two weekends of October every year.  Now it's 43rd year, the fiesta is the biggest of its kind in the country, and indeed draws spectators from all over the planet.  Tom shares the best ways to see the balloons, and explains the different events in which they are launched, or in some cases, tethered.  Sports Leisure Vacations offers the balloons on a tour every year, and this year's trip includes Carlsbad Caverns. In the Travel News,  Mythbusters has decided the fastest way to board an airplane and the CEO of Jet Blue is under fire for giving his traveling customers too many perks.  Yes, you read that right.  Mark and Tom have the details on this strange story. Gwen Duncan of Cordially Yours Travel is in studio with her deal of the week, which is actually a repeat of last week's deal, which got presented poorly due to time limitations.  If you have ever dreamed of being on a sailing ship, you'll want to be listening. Finally, it the week of an annual ritual in the desert called Burning Man.  Heard of it?  Over 60,000 people will be "camping" in the middle of the Nevada dessert to be part of a cultural phenomena.  We have some quirky facts and figures about what the gathering is and what it means to Reno's economy.
On the Sunday, July 10th, 2016 edition of The Travel Guys… We take you to the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival, where for the next two months you can enjoy a traditional Shakespeare production (Comedy of Errors), with the lake as a backdrop. There might not be a more beautiful theatrical venue in the country. We'll tell you how you can attend a performance of Shakespeare or if The Bard isn't your thing, how about Forever Plaid, a more modern comedy. Whichever you choose, it's a great evening. Bring a jacket.... Reporter Chris Galloway is on hand to be part of a travel round table. Chris has spent most of the last two months on the road, in the US and Europe, and we think his observations will help make you smarter travelers!
