On the Sunday, June 12th, 2022 edition of The Travel Guys… In the Travel News, the requirement to test within 24 hours of returning to the US is making the travel industry ecstatic, with the expectation of increasing international travel in short order. Disney is launching a new cruise ship. Chris Elliott wrote a piece on words to beware of when shopping for a vacation rental, which was the subject of our Smarter Traveler segment (a link is on this page). Gwen Duncan keeps her eye on the cruise industry for us and she checks in to talk about how the revival of the cruise industry is coming along. Tele-medicine has been on the rise around the country. Mark talks about what a perfect match it is for travelers.

On the Sunday, May 22nd, 2022 edition of The Travel Guys… In the Travel News, Canada is about to follow Europe in holding airlines accountable for delays. So why isn't it happening here in our country? Because the airlines have WAYYYY too much power in Washington, DC. Plus, Southwest expands again, this time from Sacramento to Santa Barbara. Service starts June 5th. COVID is becoming an issue again, and that is impacting travel. So what about the idea of VOLUNTARILY testing BEFORE you travel, to make sure you are safe to be around others? Mark has spent the last week in Hawaii with one of his groups. Have a Hawaii trip on your travel schedule already, or about to plan one? Mark will share his insight on what it's like in the islands right now. Hint: This might not be the best time to go. And if you do, be respectful of the islands and the people who live there.

On the Sunday, December 19th, 2021 edition of The Travel Guys… In the Travel News, COVID has caused the shutdown of the famous Rockettes Show at Radio City Music Hall in New York. The show normally runs until just after New Year's. The CDC is reporting they are handing out free COVID tests at three major airports (Chicago O'Hare, Miami and Minneapolis). Our Smarter Traveler segment features tips to make your holiday travel a little easier. Things like asking TSA personnel which security line is shorter at major airports, and packing a fold up extra bag in your suitcase to bring home gifts. There are 20 in all and you can find the list here. We'll take you on a journey to the original Santa's Village(s). That name is used all over the country now, but at one time, there were only three such places. Finally, Tom and Mark share some personal holiday memories to wrap up the show.
