On the Sunday, December 19th, 2021 edition of The Travel Guys… In the Travel News, COVID has caused the shutdown of the famous Rockettes Show at Radio City Music Hall in New York. The show normally runs until just after New Year's. The CDC is reporting they are handing out free COVID tests at three major airports (Chicago O'Hare, Miami and Minneapolis). Our Smarter Traveler segment features tips to make your holiday travel a little easier. Things like asking TSA personnel which security line is shorter at major airports, and packing a fold up extra bag in your suitcase to bring home gifts. There are 20 in all and you can find the list here. We'll take you on a journey to the original Santa's Village(s). That name is used all over the country now, but at one time, there were only three such places. Finally, Tom and Mark share some personal holiday memories to wrap up the show. On the Sunday, November 7th, 2021 edition of The Travel Guys… In the Travel News, travel is on the rebound, but there is still a serious shortage of staff in many places. Those shortages are likely to impact holiday travel. China has started a national parks system. Their beloved pandas are high on the initial protected list. Our show is live from the island of Kauai this week. In our Smarter Traveler segment, Mark takes the pulse of Hawaii, and shares that it leans heavily towards masks and vaccinations. Indoors, outdoors, if you are headed to Hawaii, you'll want to be vaccinated and be willing to take a "we are all in it together approach." Mark continues the Hawaiian theme, with his observations regarding activities and service in the islands. The spirit of Aloha is alive, and boy is this a good time for it. The Trans-Siberian Orchestra will once again present their Christmas concert in Sacramento. Tom joins the show's producer for a quick update.

On the Sunday, October 31st, 2021 edition of The Travel Guys… In the Travel News, a lawsuit reveals just how much Marriott is making on "resort/destination" fees. Hint: It's in the tens of millions annually. American Airlines is the latest melt down, canceling over a thousand flights this weekend alone; and passport wait times are starting to get shorter. Theater in Sacramento has been on hiatus due to COVID issues, but now it's back. Hamilton had a successful run, and An Officer and A Gentleman premiers next week. Richard Lewis of Broadway Sacramento joins us to talk about his new digs, how Hamilton went and what's on tap. As our city becomes more noticed in the culinary world, lots of great new things are happening around Sacramento, including our city making Wallet Hub's list of Foodie Cities at number SIX. How did that happen? It's all very scientific.
