On the Saturday, October 21st, 2023 edition of The Travel Guys… In the Travel News, the State Department issues a warning to American travelers overseas and Delta Airlines walks back some of their cuts to their Sky Miles program after a lot of negative feedback from flyers. Our Smarter Traveler segment talks about the importance of using your miles/points in frequent flyer and other rewards programs. International expert Clayton Whitehead, just back from Scotland, shares highlights of his trip and gives you some wisdom you can use if you are heading outside the country on your next trip. In our final segment, we address a topic Chris Elliott put before us in a Travelers United penning...The government collects fines from airlines. Why do those fines not go (at least in part) to the travelers who were wronged?

On the Sunday, June 18th, 2023 edition of The Travel Guys… In the Travel News, a bill in the California legislature would make hotels put those hotel fees (resort, destination, amenity, etc.) in as part of the price of the room. That small step would take away one of the major reasons hotels charge those fees in the first place. Plus, we have a list of the best and worst airports for the summer. Hint: Beware of connecting in Dallas after mid-afternoon. Our Smarter Traveler segment deals with babies on planes. Not as bad as "snakes on planes" for most, but definitely a subject where it couldn't hurt to get a few tips. Clayton Whitehead, our international travel expert stops by to talk about going overseas. One of Mark's staff recently had a suitcase lost by United Airlines. We talk about the "lost bag" experience, and give you some tips on what to do if it happens to you in our Smarter Traveler portion of the show. Trip Advisor is deleting some reviews, and has a strange way of justifying it. We talk a little about the value (or lack of value) of online reviews. A list is out of which US airport are the most and least expensive to fly out of. Sacramento isn't on either list, but is on another list that isn't such good news for local flyers.
