On the Saturday, September 5th, 2026 edition of The Travel Guys… In the Travel News, airport lounges are coming for Southwest Airlines and an express train is on the drawing board from O’Hare Airport into downtown Chicago. What and skip the famous Windy City traffic? Those stories and more in the news. For years, we have suggested Smarter Travelers should take before and after pictures of their rental cars, now that wisdom is extended to two more areas.   Odds and Ends features a story about changing demographics at Burning Man in the Nevada desert, and a run-down of the rudest things you can do while boarding a plane. We have a story about the historic Lincoln Highway. It pre-dates Route 66 and it passes through Sacramento. Recently the Rainbow Bridge near Donner Summit celebrated its 100th anniversary and local Lincoln Highway buffs threw a party. On the Saturday, May 30th, 2026 edition of The Travel Guys… In the Travel News, Carnival Cruise Lines is notifying its guests of a pretty serious data breach; and Southwest Airlines is beginning to talk about flights over the pond to Europe. Everyone has a seat assignment when they board an airplane, but some are intentionally ignoring what their boarding pass says. In our Smarter Traveler segment we’ll talk about what to do if you are trying for different seats on your flight. We talk about why it’s really against all protocols to touch flight attendants, even if it’s just to get their attention. We’ll explain proper manners when it comes to flight attendants. Finally, in our Odds and Ends portion of the show we dream a little about the future of travel. What will some things look like 10 or 20 years from now.

On the Saturday, May 23rd, 2026 edition of The Travel Guys… In the Travel News, Southwest says you absolutely cannot bring your robot on the plane, and next time an older flyer tells you there used to be a lot more legroom on airlines, believe them, because it’s true. In our Smarter Traveler segment, we talk about online trip reviews. Are these “influencers” really giving you the truth, or are they swayed by the fact the airline, hotel or cruise line is letting them travel for free with the expectation of a good review. We’ll dig in and look for the truth. Are travel vendors pulling a fast one on you when you search for a hotel, an airfare, or other travel components. Are they keeping a book on your online searches to charge you more money? Chris Elliott joins us to discuss the issue. Finally, we tell you which state in our union has the most road rage...and which one has the least. Plus, the most and least congested traffic cities, just in time for summer driving.
