On the Saturday, June 13th, 2026 edition of The Travel Guys… In the Travel News, we’ll share some of the places with big 250th birthday celebrations in a few weeks; and American Airlines is dropping a non-stop cross country flight from Sacramento. For those planning a trip to Europe soon, we have a re-cap of famous Rule 261, the consumer friendly airline policy. Did you know that rule can apply on your flight to Europe from the US? We’ll help you understand this flyer protection program. There is a new, super fast way to get through security at the airport (don’t worry, it’s perfectly legal) and we’ll tell you all about it in our summer TSA update. On the Saturday, June 6th, 2026 edition of The Travel Guys… In the Travel News, Hilton launches (yawn) another new hotel brand, Uber & Lyft drivers in one state have formed a union, and Hawaiian Airlines says goodbye to free meals in economy class. Wallet Hub has named its best hotel loyalty program for 2026. We’ll share the name of the winner and talk a little about Hotel Frequent Guest programs. Is it just us, or does it feel like those programs are offering less and less in the way of actual awards and benefits? Many of the current trends in travel are being driven by women – we’ll talk about a few; the Tony awards are tomorrow night and (remembering we are the travel AND entertainment guys), we’ll have a look from the stage on Broadway in New York City. The history of those delicious chocolate chip cookies Doubletree Hotels give you at check-in heads up the Odds and Ends segment.
On the Saturday, May 30th, 2026 edition of The Travel Guys… In the Travel News, Carnival Cruise Lines is notifying its guests of a pretty serious data breach; and Southwest Airlines is beginning to talk about flights over the pond to Europe. Everyone has a seat assignment when they board an airplane, but some are intentionally ignoring what their boarding pass says. In our Smarter Traveler segment we’ll talk about what to do if you are trying for different seats on your flight. We talk about why it’s really against all protocols to touch flight attendants, even if it’s just to get their attention. We’ll explain proper manners when it comes to flight attendants. Finally, in our Odds and Ends portion of the show we dream a little about the future of travel. What will some things look like 10 or 20 years from now.
On the Saturday, May 23rd, 2026 edition of The Travel Guys… In the Travel News, Southwest says you absolutely cannot bring your robot on the plane, and next time an older flyer tells you there used to be a lot more legroom on airlines, believe them, because it’s true. In our Smarter Traveler segment, we talk about online trip reviews. Are these “influencers” really giving you the truth, or are they swayed by the fact the airline, hotel or cruise line is letting them travel for free with the expectation of a good review. We’ll dig in and look for the truth. Are travel vendors pulling a fast one on you when you search for a hotel, an airfare, or other travel components. Are they keeping a book on your online searches to charge you more money? Chris Elliott joins us to discuss the issue. Finally, we tell you which state in our union has the most road rage...and which one has the least. Plus, the most and least congested traffic cities, just in time for summer driving.
