On the Sunday, May 15th, 2022 edition of The Travel Guys… In the Travel News, the small national hotel chain Kimpton, has added dog walking services for guests nationwide. Southwest Airlines is either the best or the worst in the sky, depending on which survey you listen to. In our Smarter Traveler segment, we talk about the importance of "timing" during the busy summer travel season. Airports, hotels, attractions, and especially restaurants are going to be busy. Timing is going to matter. Do your homework and be flexible is part of the message. The Wreath Project is a locally-led effort to honor the fallen at the Sacramento Valley Cemetery each Christmas. One of their fund-raisers is a golf tournament. On the Sunday, November 22nd, 2020 edition of The Travel Guys… In the Travel News, Delta Airlines has decided to block the middle seats through March of next year. No other carrier has committed to the practice past December and most have either already abandoned the middle seat block or will do so in the coming weeks. This gives Delta a significant advantage in what could be a pretty bleak first quarter for travel. The folks who run the Rocky Mountaineer trains in Canada have announced a new overnight excursion between Denver and Moab with an overnight in Glenwood Springs. A "preview season" of 40 departures is scheduled to commence in August with fares starting at $1250.00 p.p./dbl.occ. Mark isn't used to being "home for the holidays," and in a special Just One Man's Opinion he shares his thoughts and tips for those of you who might have a short automobile journey this Thanksgiving week. On the Sunday, November 24th, 2019 edition of The Travel Guys… In the Travel News, Hawaiian Airlines flight attendants have voted to strike for the first time in the company's 90 year history.  The vote was nearly unanimous.  The earliest a strike could legally occur would be sometime in January/February.  Experts think that is unlikely, considering the increased competition in the islands with the addition of Southwest Airlines.  A strike would be particularly harmful to Hawaiian right now, which is likely why the flight attendants are pushing their case now. Curtis Stocking of the Wreath Project joins us to discuss their annual drive to put a wreath on the grave of every single fallen warrior at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon.  The job gets bigger each year, as thousands more grave sites are added, and the cost of the wreaths inches up.  You can help.  Here is the link for their go fund me site.  They are also in need of volunteers to place the wreaths.
